Popcorn Ceiling Removal

Elevate Your Ceiling. Modernize Your Space.

It's old, it's dated, you hate it - and so do we. Say goodbye to that stale stucco texture, and hello to smooth, modern ceilings. At Rolling Thunder Painting Company, we help transform homes across HRM by removing outdated textures and leaving behind fresh, fearless finishes. Whether you're refreshing a Bayer's Lake bungalow, or restoring a custom-built Bedford beauty, a flawless ceiling sets the tone for the space you deserve.

Popcorn ceiling removal is messy work - it requires removal of furniture when possible, and extreme care in covering floors and anything else that stays. Let us handle the mess - and the stress - you just enjoy the results.

Our Popcorn Removal Process

Popcorn Removal Process

Any furnishings, decorations, valuables, etc., must first be removed from the room. All floors and fixed surfaces are covered with professional-grade protection to ensure a clean, damage-free worksite. Adjacent rooms are sealed off to keep dust and debris contained.

We lightly dampen the texture to ease the removal process and to help prevent any damage to the drywall underneath.

Using professional tools, we remove the texture cleanly and efficiently.

Once the texture has been removed and smoothed to the best of our ability, we repair any imperfections and then give the entire ceiling a skim coat of professional-grade drywall mud to create a fresh, flat surface.

Once fully dry and sanded smooth, we apply a high-quality primer, followed by two full, even coats of premium ceiling paint, specifically formulated for flat finishes, and thunderous results  - the Rolling Thunder way.
